Hi Boris:
Your issue, unfortunately, is a browser security issue.
Some LMS systems let you configure (usually globally) a browser lock-down function. When the user opens a course, all browser functions (including CTRL+F5) are locked out.
Storyline, in short, acts like a webpage that, when closed submits cookies to the server (unless you use TinCan, then it submits on every Next button click). Allowing a user to close a window via the X button terminates the connection and LMS communication.
The window that is opened is served by the LMS and any parameters that the window contains are served with it from the LMS.
I hope this information helps you understand the LMS needs to control this.
