Publish Rise Course to Web for Client

There are a few ways to share your courses in Rise:

• Use the share link. That requires an active subscription and shares your course in production. 
• Upload to Review. Same as above, it requires an active subscription.
• Export the course for LMS or web. This gives you a .zip file. If you publish for LMS you can upload the .zip to your LMS. If you publish for web, you need to unzip the file and upload the unzipped folder to a web server and then link to the index.html in the content folder.

I use Amazon S3 to host courses for the blog. It's mostly free (or very low cost). Here's a post to show how to use it and other services if you need a web server.

Also, your courses will remain intact on our servers for at least six months after your trial or subscription expires unless you delete them beforehand. Anyone who has direct links to your courses will still be able to view them. However, you won't be able to edit or export them. 

Learners will still be able to view published Rise courses that you host on your own web server or LMS.

Hi all.

This may seem easy to some of you, but to a newbie, I am having some difficulty. I have developed a module in Rise for my students and I would like to post to an LMS, either the schools (which I am not fully sure what it is) or either Google Classroom or Canvas and then provide a link for my students to review. I have exported both as LMS and Web but I have not been able to get them to work as of yet. 

I have tested the file as a review but I am on a trial and if up to me, I would purchase, but the company I am going to be doing some work for hasn't provide me with the decision between Articulate or Adobe as of yet (personally I prefer Articulate). I do not want to lose the module if my trial ends. I would still like to have it with me for future use if possible.

What files do I need to upload to an LMS to get it to work? I have tried a few different things to no avail. Any help with this, would be appreciated.

No worries, we're here to help, as we were all newbie's once. 😀

If you have the Share links for your Rise course, that's a great start!  Copy and save those somewhere you can always access like in your email. 

The courses and the share links will remain intact on our servers for at least six months after your trial expires unless you delete them beforehand. Anyone who has those direct links to your courses will still be able to view them. However, you won't be able to edit or export them.

If you'd like to download them before your trial ends, do this for each Rise course:

1) Click Export in the upper right corner.

2) Use the LMS drop-down list to select an LMS spec or choose No LMS—Web Only.

3) Click Export in the upper right corner again to download a zip package of your course.

If you don't have access to your client's LMS yet, take a look at using SCORM Cloud. It's easy to upload a zip folder there, and bonus it's free up to 100 MB! 

For Web Only courses, I use Amazon S3. But any web server that you have access to would work.  They'll also support offline viewing in Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. When you download a Rise course as a web package, extract the zip file, you'll then launch the index.html file to play it offline. Any embedded web content won't work offline unless you have an active internet connection.

I appreciate your help with this. The help I have read on elearning heroes is one of the things I like about Articulate.

I have read a couple of comments about Amazon S3. How does that work. I have taken a look at it and I know there is a free 12 month option as well as some always free service, but there is a lot of technical jargon that I am not familiar with. This is a web server, correct? so I would upload the files that I have from the web export option with Rise, and then I would provide a link to the index.html file? And that will work? Am I understanding that correctly?

I have published my course for Web export, unzipped, and then uploaded to Amazon S3.  I am able to locate the content folder, copy the URL for the Index.html file, but the course does not show up.  Only a blank page.  Am I missing a step?  (Also, if I double click on the index file on my system, everything works.  Just no luck on the Amazon server).

I have found the error, I did not make the entire "folder" public.  I had only allowed the index.html file public.  I wanted to post as an FYI for others.
