Publish to Web with Rise
Hello,
Is there a way to publish to web with Rise? I only see LMS options.
Thanks

Hi Judy,
What link have you used inside your LMS to link to Rise?
If you're using the Share link that means it could be copied and shared with anyone else, and they wouldn't need to go through your LMS to see it.
I'd like to help you with the course freezing in your LMS, as uploading into your LMS using the Rise export options will provide you tracking, security within the LMS and all the benefits that LMS hosting has to offer.
Can you tell me more about what browser you're viewing it in? Are you pointing to the
indexapi.html file?- JudyCornelius-0Community Member
I’m using Chrome. It’s the company default. We have had minor issues
viewing through Chrome but recently tested and couldn’t repeat the issue.
I’ve requested whitelist also.Yes, that’s the file. Thank you for the support. I’m working with a huge
course and the launch date is next week. Thanks!!

Hi, I created a Rise course but I can ran with Internet Explorer in Moodle
WHERE CAN I host my Rice to the public to access???
Hi Loli,
Did your course not work in Moodle?
If you're not able to use that for Rise courses, you could also look at using a web server such as Amazon S3 for hosting.

Thank you Ashley, I will try Amazon!!!

When i download and unzipped the webversion of my course, can i use that link directly or do i have to publish it..I still get a blank screen when i open the index file..
Hi Elvira!
Are these the steps you followed? From your Downloads folder...
- Right-click the zipped file and select Extract All.
- Click Extract.
- Once the file has finished extracting, double-click the Content folder.
- Double-click Index.
- A new browser window/tab should open, and you should see your Rise course there.
Let me know if that helps!

Hi Alyssa,
I followed the 5 steps that you shared in your comment above, but it only opened up a blank webpage. Any solutions?
Hi Iyana,
I'm happy to jump in here!
Are these the 5 steps you're referring to? Have you tried using a different browser?

Hi,
I've just double clicked on 'index.html' but nothing happens. I'm still not sure how I add this onto our website so others can access it.
With thanks,
Michelle
Hi Michelle and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Once you've published your content for web-only output, you can share that zip file with your web administrator to upload and the learners will need a link to the index.html file.

I have done this. Learners have a link to the "index.html" file but it doesn't work with Internet Explorer. With Chrome it works :)
While I figure out what to do, I put the course in SCORM Cloud and then I'm sharing the link to the module.
Hi Michelle,
You'll need to upload the entire contents of the exported folder to your webserver. Once uploaded there you'll give learners a link to the
index.htmlfile. The specifics of your website are something I'd suggest reaching out to your IT team about! It also sounds like you're trying to view the course offline? Offline viewing is supported in Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Just download a Rise course as a web package, extract the zip file, then launch the index.html file. Steps are outlined here.
Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge block local playback of Rise courses altogether. You'll just see a blank page in these browsers. To use Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, you'll need to upload your course to a web server.Hey, Erin. No IT team, no problem. We'll help you get to the bottom of this! 😊
First, thanks for giving the Export Web-Only Output steps a go. If you haven't seen this Peek video, it's a helpful visual guide on how to get Rise content on a website.
To help us dig deeper, could you share more detail on what happens when you click on the
index.htmlfile? Additionally, what site are you trying to host the published content on?
