Quiz with decreasing points

You could create a numeric variable with a default value of 100 and then adjust that variable based on user responses. I'm a huge fan of creative, out-of-the-box designs, but I have to admit with this one I'm a little perplexed. Can I ask why you want to use this approach? It seems like it could have impacts and consequences well beyond this specific project. For example, will you be reporting the student scores to another system? Will the scores be a part of some sort of training and/or HR record? Also, your learners might not be too enthusiastic about scoring a 0 on a quiz. Just my two cents.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my query Chris.
Here's a short background for this thinking:
I'm developing a Carbon Literacy module and I'm planning to start this with a 'game quiz-like' activity that is timed and the goal is to reach zero. The 'rough' idea is 'race to zero' where learners will answer questions about climate change and climate action, under time-pressure to signify sense of urgency. The 'scores' will not be recorded - the goal of this activity is to set the scene as well as provide triggers about climate and carbon concepts.
If learners achieved zero, this can be a positive spin i.e. reaching net zero emissions is achievable - we just need to start now. For those that didn't achieve zero, this can mean that climate action it's hard work but we have to start now.
Once this quiz has been completed, learners then segue to the content - where the questions posed in the activity would be covered/highlighted.
I'm aware that this whole idea is still a work in progress hence I thought of reaching out to the community to find out if this approach can be done.
