Quiz won't reset to initial state after quiz review

Hi,

I'd like to give our students the option of reviewing what they missed on a quiz before they retake the quiz.

I have tried to reset the quiz by using “reset quiz” trigger and changing all the quiz questions to “reset to initial state” but when I go to take the quiz a second time I can still see the original feedback.

Any ideas?

    Hi,

I have multiple quizzes and in them I have it to reset only incorrect answers, fine no problem.

My problem is that even if you get the first question correct, it resets as if it was incorrect. My trigger order is reset quiz, then navigate to the slide. The file is huge so hopefully someone can help.

  • Hi Victoria,

Thanks for contacting us and sharing what you are experiencing. I know you mention that the file is huge, but would you be able to import one of these quizzes into a new file so that we can take a look?

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

  • Hi All, i've read the above thread but have had no luck in getting my first assessment slide to reset; the next assessment slide does though. i want the student to be able to try the assessment 3 times before they are sent back to the beginning of the course to re-read. but, like I said, the first quiz slide won't reset when revisited (despite the triggers). HELP!

      Hello Sparkle ELearning!

I'm happy to help! It looks like the Reset Results trigger was on the first question slide rather than the Results Slide. I've added the trigger to the Results Slide and it is working as expected. I've attached the updated project to this reply.

  • Hi, Michael.

Thank you for sharing your .story file!

On your Failure layer, the only trigger connected to the Retry button is the one to Jump to slide 1.2. You also need a trigger to reset the results (and it needs to happen before the jump trigger):

    I hope this helps!
