Resources Menu Item Not Loading on Review 360

I am making a series of Storyline courses with the same look and feel.  One thing I did: I renamed the Resources item to "Print File" and created a custom Resources button. The first course was published without any issues.

I created the .story files for the second course, and on publishing one to Review 360, realized that the "Print File" menu item wasn't there, though it looks fine in the Player Preview screen.  I've tried a number of things to get it to display, including going back to Course 1's .story file, gutting the slides, and re-importing the Course 2 slides.  As soon as I do, the Print File menu item disappears.  I also tried changing the interface so that the Resources tab item retains its name and the custom contents under the Resources button are relocated to other places.

So far, if I import the slides or use a player with the old Print File label, even if I then change the player, it won't display.

Has anyone heard of any similar issues with Resources?  And sorry, but I cannot share my files outside my organization.

As an update, I created a new .story file and set all of the player settings by hand.  I copied and pasted the slides into newly-created scenes.  I tested it right there, and the Resources menu item was fine.  Where I had "jump to" and "lightbox" triggers before, of course, they imported as "unassigned".  So after testing it with Preview and Review 360, I re-attached the triggers, then tested again, and lost the Resources menu item.  I went back and clicked "undo" all the way back to the point of just having copied and pasted the slides.  I tested it in Preview and on Review 360 at this point, and the Resources menu item still isn't there.

  • Hi Holly_Maso,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Resources menu item!

I ran some tests on my end, but the renamed Resources item stayed visible after publishing to Review 360, so I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue.

I really appreciate the clear explanation and the steps you’ve already taken. From what you described, it sounds like there might be some corrupt elements in your slides, especially since the problem came back after you reinserted them and added the triggers.

One thing you can try is removing slides and objects one at a time (or in small groups) to narrow down which one might be causing the issue. We’d be happy to help with that if you'd like.

We can provide a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), and you can send your project file over privately through a support case. We’ll delete it as soon as we’re done testing.

    Hi Eric,

Thank you for getting back to me.  I worked with a colleague and found the issue.  I do appreciate your following up with me!  Have a great week.
