Revert Object States when revisiting slide
Hello
I have a slide with theory followed by a quiz. If the learner does not pass the quiz, they are automatically sent back to the theory slide. On this theory slide there are four different buttons, each of which calls up a level with additional information. I used the built-in “visited” state for these buttons so that they turn gray when you have seen the information. Although I have selected “revert to original state” in the slide settings, the buttons do not return to their “normal” state when the learner returns. I also tried a trigger “set state to normal when timeline starts” but that doesn't work either. I think it might be because the timeline doesn't restart on repeat visits, but I don't know how to “force/change” that.
Any ideas why this doesn't work?
I can't share the .story file because of company sensitive content.
A work around I thought about, would be to just copy the theory slide and put it after the quiz. But this is not very professional in my opinion.
Thanks in advance
Michelle
Thank you both for your kind reply. I asked support and I had another variable that changed the state of the button's which I didn't see. So it was my fault ;) Now it works. Thanks for your time.

I created a project using your description, and things appear to work as expected. Can you compare settings and see where the hang up might be?

When the Slide Properties for revisiting are "Reset to initial state," that should work to reset buttons back to Normal. If that's not happening in your file, I suggest you contact support. They're discreet about handling files with proprietary info, and will delete the file when the case is closed. https://access.articulate.com/support/contact
FYI: a "when timeline starts on this slide" trigger will run every time the user visits a slide (that is, unless it includes any conditions that aren't met).
- If your triggers are set for when the timeline starts on an object (e.g., "when timeline starts on Button 1"), change those to on this slide.
- If your triggers are set for when the timeline starts on this slide, that should work. If it doesn't, that would also be something to tell support.
