RISE - Letters instead of Numbers in Lists?

Hi, I'm trying to replace numbers in a list with a custom letter (ie N instead of 1, C instead of 2, T instead of 3).  Is this possible, and if so, how?

Thanks in advance.

  • I would like to give this discussion a bump. I am finding that we need Ordered Lists to have the option of letters (both upper- and lower-case options) or numbers for some legal content that cannot be changed to use numbers.

With this should come the ability to start/continue a numbered list at ANY desired number or letter. This is especially important when adding an image to a numbered list of steps. Because adding something as simple as an image to a paragraph will start my numbering all over again since I'll be forced to add another text block to continue my previous numbered list.

Here's how to get alpha lists in Rise. The text editor Rise uses is actually 3rd party software called Froala.

  • isn't this a 'duh' feature? i see it was initiated 6 years ago - and instead of useful features such as this we get constant updates for stuff i don't need (and i guess most don't really need) but a feature like this which would have HUGE benefits for learning content go un changed after years and years of requests.....

    Adding another +1 for this.

This is built in functionality in the third party text editor used by Rise so shouldn't be hard to implement... In case the devs need a pointer they can see an example here: list style type - Froala

Wow. Another basic feature unaddressed for the better portion of a decade.  I could really use a feature to control the formatting of ordered lists (alphabetic lists [ABCD...] is mostly what I'm in need of).  +1 for this feature.
