Rise - Transfer of projects to clients, how does it work?
Hi there,
How would one transfer a project developed in Rise to a client for not only handover purposes but for them to edit the raw files for maintenance purposes too? The only way I could see this being possible at this stage is to create "client accounts" on Articulate Rise where their content will live - this not being the best option as it requires the creation and linking of a specific person's email address within the company.
Looking at more of the same function that Storyline 2 has with the export and import of files.
Please advise whether this will become a feature, and if so, the timeline for release?
Thanks so much,
Samantha

Hi Samantha, there is an export option on the upper right hand side of Rise that you can use to export the course for hosting someplace else.

Hi Nancy, thank you for the reply. While we will export and host the content on their LMS, our clients will need access to the content for maintenance purposes, therefore to the editable raw file. I stand to be corrected, however I do not see an export function which can allow the user to export the raw file?
If so, how would one upload it to their account?

Good question. I have no idea.

I understand this is going to be added in an update, however not sure if this is only for teams.
We are adding a collaborators feature to Rise in Q1. It will allow you to transfer projects and allow multiple authors on the same course.

Hello, the latest reply on this topic is from more than a year ago, but I just have created a new account and searching back with the questions I currently have and could not find the answer yet.
Was the update done? and is it now possible to export a course from one account to another?
Thanks in advance.
Hello Arnout and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thanks for reaching out and following up on this conversation.
Yes, you can certainly share your Rise course with other authors now and you can find the directions here.

This is only helpful if the person has a subscription to Articulate. It isn't helpful when you have to send the course file to a client, who may need the files if they want to hire a different ID in the future.

There is no file it is all cloud based so the recipient will need a subscription.

Hi,
I'm looking to provide a customer with the RAW, editable Rise project. Based on the above, is the only method, to add them as a collaborator and transfer? What if the contact did not have an account, how can the RAW Rise project file then be transferred, or is this not possible?

Hi,
If your client has a current Articulate 360 account, you can send them a copy of the course which they will be able to edit in the future.
If you client does not have an Articulate 360 account, you cannot share the course with them at all.

Thanks Karl. The complication comes where we have Storyline elements embedded into the Rise project. Perhaps I will run some dummy tests to see the outcomes.

Hi I have a question about keeping the source of a Rise project for maintenance. If I developed a Rise project for a client and I stop my subscription for longer then 6 months, can I then have acces to the source if I resubscribe or is it all gone? The client has no subscription to articulate 360, so sending a copy to them is not possible.
Hi m fr!
We'll keep your online content on our servers up to six months after your paid subscription expires. See more details in the article below:
You may also reach out to our support team to check your subscription and its content by creating a support case.
Lastly, there isn't a way to get a copy of the source files of your Rise content, but you may publish courses to Web so you can download published outputs of your courses.
Let me know if you need anything else!
