RISE 360 - font size and accessinility
Hi ElizabethOseid,
Happy to share some insight on this.
As you've mentioned, Rise 360 font sizes are measured in "Points". However, it's expected for a 12pt Rise font to appear different from 12pt font in other applications, like Word. Different fonts have different visual proportions, and web-based applications can also render text differently from desktop apps.
When evaluating accessibility, the key consideration is not the point size alone, but whether the text is readable for learners and meets accessibility requirements such as sufficient color contrast and support for browser zoom. Accessibility standards like WCAG do not prescribe a specific minimum font size. Instead, they focus on ensuring content remains readable and can be resized by users without loss of functionality. In Rise, the learner's view is fully responsive and will adapt to different screen sizes and zoom levels. Also, learners can use their browser/device zoom to enlarge course content. The course will reflow to remain readable at higher zoom levels.
Having said that, we are tracking a feature request to support larger font sizes for text on buttons, quizzes, and navigational elements. I've included your voice in that request so we can notify you if this enhancement makes it to our product roadmap.
Please let me know if you need anything else!
