Rise 360 question attempts

I have usually just set questions to unlimited attempts in the past but as I was setting up a True/False question, I wanted them to only get 1 attempt.

I noticed when I set this up, a small message appears at the bottom after attempting and getting the question wrong, saying "You have reached the maximum amount of retries."

Normally I would put in the question text how many attempts a user would get, so don't really want this message showing up, esp when there is only 1 attempt.

I havent seen a way to turn this message off at all (unless I am missing something). It would be great to have a toggle in the settings to allow developers the ability to have this message showing or turn it off when not needed (to give developers more control on how it appears for learners). Is this an option to add in?

  • Go into the 'Labels' setting for your course, create a new Label set by copying the existing one and delete the text in the right-hand column next to 'You have reached the maximum amount of retries'.

I also use this method for removing the 'Start' button from the title screen.

It's important that you don't edit the existing label set, as this retrospectively affects all courses using that set, so create a new set.
