Rise course is showing as complete in LMS even though quiz has been failed.
I have the quiz settings set to 80% to pass, require passing score to continue is on, quiz retries - unlimited, include in lesson count - on. I have uploaded a scrom 2004 file to our LMS and even though I fail the quiz it still shows as complete. How do I fix this problem?

Hi Monica,
Typically a LMS tracks two related yet different states:
- Course Completion
- Course Mastery
Note the wording used in your LMS may be different.
This means that a learner can complete an entire course, while failing to meet the mastery / passing criteria.
Using your example, the learner completed the course but failed to meet the mastery criteria, i.e. did not meet the 80% pass mark.
That circumstance still correctly counts as a course completion.

Thank you for your response Karl. I completely understand what you are saying but I am looking for a way to make the course not show as complete until the viewer passes the quiz. As of now the LMS gives them a certificate of completion and we can't have that as it is a compliance course. Our LMS pulls completion from the scorm file and if I use Storyline it reports properly.
Hi Monica! What settings did you select when you exported your Rise 360 course for LMS? Here are the settings I would suggest:
- Tracking: Track using quiz result
- Reporting: Passed/Incomplete

I have the same issue. Here are my export screens for Rise and Storyline. Please advise. At my wits' end on this.

Hi Isabel, I'm sorry to hear you've run into this issue. We have this documented and our team is looking into this as a possible bug. I'll share updates here as soon as I can.

Thanks Lea. I had to use a work around which was to make the course a curriculum. I essentially had to remove the Storyline block out of Rise. It's a bit of a bummer considering I invested so much time in trying to make that part work. I look forward to hearing your solution.

Hi, is there a solution for this on Storyline 360? Currently, my course marks as complete even when the user hasn't reached the 80% pass mark. I want to mark the SCORM attempt as complete but not the activity as completed unless the pass mark has been achieved. Thanks
Hi Synergy Learning! Sorry to hear about your experience. This thread is for Rise 360 courses, I'd like to invite you to open up a case and submit a copy of your course here. Our support engineers will be happy to assist in testing this with you!

Hello, is there anything new here? We have exported our course based on Track using quiz result as xapi and implemented it in our LMS. The problem is that users can no longer access the course even though they have not passed the quiz. Instead, they should be able to access the quiz until they pass the quiz. Is there a solution here?

Any news on this topic? We need to be able to have the course marked Passed in the LMS based on both lessons 80% complete AND quiz 80% score. Thanks.
Hi AngelaNicholas!
Happy to help with this!
Currently, when publishing a SCORM package from Rise 360, authors can choose between tracking by course completion, or by the quiz results. Tracking by a Storyline 360 Block is also supported, if your course contains them. It sounds like you are looking for a cumulative tracking option that combines lesson progress, and quiz scores. I've shared that feedback with our product team! We'll be sure to update you if this enhancement makes it to our product roadmap.
Also, this article outlines all of the quiz data that Rise sends to an LMS. How each LMS presents that data, is dependent on the LMS itself. As a workaround, you may be able to analyze how each learner answered the quiz. If it was above 80%, then they passed.

Thanks for sharing the cumulative tracking option with the product team! We compromised on a workaround by changing the course completion to 100%, but this is not ideal for when we want to include optional branches for learners.
