Rise courseware - LMS publishing - SCORM file contains media from snapshots
We use Rise 360 to develop courses that go through multiple review and revision cycles. As a result, a course can accumulate several snapshots and multiple versions of images, videos, animated GIFs, and audio files.
We have observed that when we publish the final course for LMS delivery as a SCORM package, the output can include older media files that are no longer used in the current version of the course. This increases the SCORM package size unnecessarily.
We have also observed that courses with a large number of snapshots and associated media can take longer to load or occasionally become unresponsive while editing.
Currently, we use either of these workarounds:
- Extract the SCORM package, identify and remove unused media, and repackage it.
- Archive the original Rise 360 course, duplicate it, and publish the duplicated version.
Feature request:
When publishing a course to an LMS, provide an option to exclude unused media and include only the assets referenced by the current published version of the course.
An additional “Clean up unused media” option within Rise 360 could also help course authors remove assets that are no longer referenced by the current course while preserving snapshots as required.

There shouldn't be a need to have a checkbox to include/exclude. Articulate need to change so it publishes the current, live version. Unclear why they think packages would need to include any old unused files.
