Snapshot restore, error publishing to LMS

Hi! I've been working on a course in Rise for a while. Before I made some edits this morning, I took a snapshot. I ended up not liking those edits, so I restored the course to the previous snapshot. Now, when I try to publish to SCORM 2004 (as I usually do), I keep getting an error message that says, "Something went wrong. Try again."

I've tried multiple times with the same result. A colleague also tried publishing this course and got the same error—though they have no problems publishing other courses. I tried making a duplicate and publishing that version, but still no luck. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue, or is it a possible bug?

  • Hi -- I wanted to mention this in case anyone comes across this thread. In the end, this was not an issue with Snapshot. Lianne checked my course files and found that the issue was due to corrupt files, specifically images with excessively long file names. I renamed the images and was able to publish the course. Thanks!

  • Hi AshleyRyan-8421!

Sorry to hear you're facing publishing issues after restoring a Rise 360 Snapshot!

I noticed you've opened a support case as well. To help our support engineers troubleshoot this behavior, it would be helpful to see a share link of the Rise course that's giving you trouble. Do you mind replying to the introductory e-mail that was sent when you created the case, and including the course link?

We can continue the conversation through your case to keep all information in one spot.

  • Thank you so much. I added a link to the email. I appreciate your help with this.

Be aware that if you use Rise AI to create images, that you will end up with very long file names.
