Rise flip card issue and screen reader
Hi, kelliel!
I see you've connected with my teammate, John, in case. We can continue the troubleshooting there!
Hi,
Do we have any solution for this?? We are also facing the same issue with flipcards & it is failing our accessibility test.

Hi KatherinePedone,
The current behavior in Rise is intentional. When the flip button receives keyboard focus, screen readers such as NVDA and JAWS announce the "click to flip" instruction and read the card's content aloud. This helps ensure that no information is missed, even if a learner chooses not to activate the flip interaction.
This also aligns with the visual layout. The flip control appears in the top right corner of the card, before the card content. Because keyboard focus follows the visual order, the control is encountered first, and its associated content is announced then. This creates a consistent experience between what sighted users see and what screen reader users hear.
There haven't been any recent changes to this behavior.
Please let us know if this reflects what you're experiencing. If not, we're happy to take a closer look with any additional details you can provide.
