Rise scenario block - end of scenario

Does anyone know if we can change the wording at the end of the scenario.  I don't like that it says start over without any other instructions.

Hi Alan, no solutions were offered to get rid of the "start over" button at the end of the scenario because there are none.

There is also no function within Rise to put a continue button overlaid onto the "end of scenario" image in place of the start over button. This is because you cannot overlay one block on top of another.

So any buttons you add will appear below the scenario block.

  • Hi Alan,

You could add some text at the end of the scenario (as shown below) to let learners know they should scroll down to proceed to the next lesson.

As Karl mentioned, there isn't a way to remove the Start Over button because we want to give learners the option to review the content in the scenario if they want.

Thanks Alyssa and Karl, that makes sense. I think what I'll do is write at the end of the scenario "Congratulations. Don't click the "start over" button, but rather, scroll down below the picture and you'll find a continue button." Or do you think it's better to just use a left column navigation?

Hi Alan. I think adding some helpful text to the Scenario End content is a good idea, especially if you're getting feedback learners that they're unsure of what to do.

  • I get a lot of comments about the start over. It confuses a lot of people. So I got rid of it with this snippet of css : .scenario-block__text__end { display: none; }

      Hi Jessica,

Where would I insert that css snippet?

      Is it complicated?

      Thanks!

There is a setting you can use to change that verbiage. Get to the main screen of your course, click on SETTINGS > LABELS, then search for SCENARIO. At the end of that section, you'll see where you can change the text for "START OVER" by entering your preferred text in the right-hand column. Good luck!

When a patient is admitted to a hospital, nurses are required to ask a series of 9 screening questions that assess the patient's social needs. It's conducted on a tablet or laptop. For each question, there are 5 possible patient responses: never, rarely, sometimes, fairly often and frequently.  I used a Rise scenario treatment with 3 scenes. Each scene covers a screening question a nurse asks a patient. So, scene 1 is question #6, scene 2 is question #7 and scene 3 is question #8.  Each scene asks a question and the learner has to identify the correct nurse reply for each of the five possible patient responses.

At the end of scene 1, I put an Scenario End which tells the learner that next they will learn about question #7 and there is a Continue button that advances to scene 2/question 7. However, I'm unable to put a Scenario End slide at the end of Scene 2.

Is there a way to do this?

  • Hi cynthia,

    Thanks for reaching out!

My colleague Crystal walked through the steps earlier in this thread. I'll post them again so you can reference them!

    When editing your scenario block:

    • Click the Add Content button at the bottom of the editing pane.
    • Choose Text content.
    • Add a header and some body text for the end of your scenario.
    • Set the behavior to Go to: End Scenario.

Let us know if you have any other questions! Happy to help and follow up with you in this thread or privately in a support case.

    Have a wonderful afternoon!
