Rise Storyline Blocks & Screen Readers
I just tested the screen reader supplied within the Edge browser. I usually export our RISE modules to SCORM and this is then hosted on our webpage. However the Edge screen reader skips every Storyline block, while reading all the rest. I was wondering whether there is any future development in regard of getting this working since accessibility is now a regulatory requirement especially in Germany.
Unfortunately due to IT restrictions within our company, we have not onboarded any specific screen readers like JAWS or NVDA so I can test otherwise.
Also, all my storyline blocks have alternative text etc.

Hi IrisSchlabitz,
Thanks for reaching out!
Currently, Rise 360 output supports JAWS and NVDA screen readers for Windows and VoiceOver for Mac. I filed a feature request on your behalf to add additional screen reader support, including the built-in screen reader within Microsoft Edge. In the meantime, I recommend contacting your IT team for access to the currently supported screen readers.
You also mentioned that you export your Rise modules to SCORM and host them on your webpage. By “webpage,” did you mean your LMS or simply a web server? If it’s not an LMS, it might be better to export the Rise course for Web distribution instead of SCORM.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
