Rise Text alignment in question feedback - Accessibility

Is there a way to set as default for all question text to be left aligned in Rise?

As per the W3C recommendations for accessibility, it is best to have all text left aligned to help people with cognitive disabilities to be able to read the text easier.

I can't seem to find any settings to be able to do this in Rise. Is this something that is going to be added in the future?

  • Hi Jo! How are you doing today?

When you are editing the feedback text, if you highlight the text you should see tools that would let you change the alignment of your text:

    Hope it helps!

Hi, This is what I have been doing so far, but would love it if it was possible to have this setting as default (or an option in the main Rise settings to select this option), as it can be quite time consuming going through each question and setting it to left aligned.

        Hi Jo,

We have created a Quiz with a variety of questions that have been set up and formatted according to our preferences.

Whenever we start a new Rise course, we copy the Quiz template into the new course. We then duplicate the previously set up questions, and edit them.

  • I think there might be a bug because in some questions, no matter how many times I left align text, it resets itself to centre-aligned. Not only annoying but compromises the quality (consistency) of courses as well as adherence to accessibility standards.

Can someone from the team pls flag this for fixing?

      Hi CassyCoggins-15

I understand you're having trouble with your question feedback not retaining left alignment after adjusting the settings in Rise 360. Since I can see the alignment as expected on my end, I'd like to learn more!

      • What specific question type(s) do you experience this behavior in?
      • Do you experience this behavior in any other courses, or just this one?
      • Where are you viewing your course? (ex: Preview, Review 360, Published Output)

I recommend confirming that you are running the latest version of our supported browsers for authoring and testing using an incognito window to see if that changes your experience.

We'd be happy to take a closer look at a copy of your course if you're unable to maintain the left alignment. You can share your Rise 360 course(s) in a support case so everything is in one spot!
