Rounded Corner Speech Bubble
Is there a way to keep the text box from turning into a balloon animal when you move the pointer? The text boxes in this image are identical except for the pointer is moved.
I know I can change the radius, but it seems like this should be not necessary.

Hi allennation-602,
Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I can see the difference in the rounded corners, and I understand you’d like to move the pointer without having to readjust the corner radius each time.
I tested this by duplicating a caption and moving the pointer on the copy. In my testing, the corner radius stayed the same, so I wasn’t able to reproduce what you’re seeing.
A couple of details could help us take a closer look.
- Which version of Storyline 360 are you using? You can find the full build number under Help > About Storyline.
- Could you share a sample project that shows the two captions? A short screen recording showing how you move the pointer would also be helpful.
If you’d prefer to share your project privately, feel free to open a support case. Our team can take a closer look at the behavior.

All four bubbles in your example are the older caption-style callout, not the callout from Insert > Shape > Callouts. To fix I'd swap to a shape callout. Insert > Shape > Callouts > “Rectangular callout (or whichever you choose) ”. Its corners belong to the rectangle, so moving the pointer won’t change them. Once you have one bubble the way you want it, you can right-click > Set As Default Shape so new ones start from that.
