Running Storyline on a Virtual Machine

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone tested Storyline on a Virtual Machine using a Mac? Just wanted to know how this will perform using the latest macbook laptops and if there is another route to go besides Parallels to use the software on a Mac.

Thanks for the help

  • The Intel Macs work better, however the performance on a new Mac is acceptable. The other choice is the get a PC and Remote Desktop into the PC from the Mac

    Hello,
Yes, many users have tested Storyline on a Mac using virtual machines like Parallels. Performance can vary, but it generally works well with some adjustments. Besides Parallels, you can also try VMware Fusion or VirtualBox as alternatives.

Hi Phil, thanks so much for the reply. The Mac that we will be using is the Mac Pro with the M3 pro chip with 18GB memory. Do you think this will work if running a Virtual Windows Machine to run Storyline?

  • It will work, at points it maybe a bit laggy. I haven't used a virtual machine for a while so may have improved. It was definitely usable.
