Have you tested in another LMS, e. g. SCORM Cloud? Sounds like an LMS issue to me, but that's a guess.
I also can't see how suspend data could cause a screen to freeze (if I understand you) in mid-video playback.
EDIT: has anyone watched the browser console (F12, click on the Console tab) to see what operation is happening when it freezes?
