Scroll panel appearing with titles and sub-titles
Hi everyone,
Can someone help me figure out why the scrolling panel keeps appearing next to my titles and subtitles, even when all the text is showing already? I'm guessing it has something to do with accessibility but my text is big enough, in a easy to read color, etc. The scrolling bar only shows up once I publish an item - not when I'm drafting. Thanks!
Hi Vi,
The accessible text is HTML text, and different browsers treat HTML text differently. As a result, there may be variations in line and character spacing across browsers even when learners don't change text properties.
Since some browsers add more spacing than others, you might see an unexpected scroll bar in some text boxes, such as slide titles. This happens when the text plus spacing is bigger than the bounding box. If you want to avoid scroll bars in default accessible text, you can increase the height of the text box to account for differences in spacing across browsers.
Choosing to leave them or fix them would be up to you and your design requirements.

Hi, Vi.
Thank you for reaching out!
When you right-click the text box and select Format Shape, do you see the options below under Text Box:
If you do, can you try changing the option for Overflow Handling to see if it removes the scroll bars?
If your options are different, do you have a button to Upgrade Text?

Thanks so much for the response! So I just read this article. I do see the options. I guess my question is, what do the scroll bars mean in terms of my design? They appear sometimes even when I have no text that would overflow. Is it best to keep autofit > fixed size on and scroll bars on when I'm designing? And if I see the scroll bars, leave them be? Or fix?
