Sentence case not capitaliz each first letters of each sentence
Hi,
I am doing lots of formatting of "pasted" text. Much of the structure, including appropriate cap use, has to be compromised. One of my tasks is to make sure that all of the first letters in each sentence are capitalized. I have been using the format tool; Paragraph>Change Case > Sentence Case but it only seems to cap the first letter of the first sentence and none of the fist letters in the rest of the sentences. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
Thanks
~Stephen

Thanks for the recording, Stephen!
I'm reproducing the same thing on my end, so I'll go ahead and log it with the team. I doubt that would be by design, so hopefully we can get this improved in our next update. Thanks again for posting this. I'll update the thread when I hear any news.
Take care!

Sentence case seems buggy to me:
It’s up-to-date! > sentence case > It’S up-To-Date!
There's a capital after each ' and - and maybe other signs!
(SL2 update 9)
Pierre, thanks for pointing this bug out. I was able to reproduce the same thing on my end-- it appeared that the letters falling after periods, commas, hyphens and even quotation marks, are being capitalized. We have a report with QA about commas, but I'll be sure to include the other characters as well. I'll attach this discussion to their report, and we'll be able to update you with more information as we get it.
Sorry for the trouble!

Wondering if there was any progress on the Sentence Case formatting tool and how it affects letters that follow punctuation?
It is still changing lowercase letters that follow a comma, Into a capital letter (like this sentence).

Hi Vanessa,
Thanks for reaching out! Since this discussion is a bit older, can you share a little more about how you're experiencing the formatting tool?
- What version of Storyline are you using?
- Are you pasting text as well, and what are you pasting from?
- How are you selecting the Sentence Case formatting?
This will help us dig deeper into the issue!

Hi Ren, thanks for looking into the sentence case formatting tool.
I'm currently using the latest version of Articulate 360 - April 6, 2021 (Build 3.50.24832.0) - but have noticed the issue over several years including with Storyline 2.
To replicate the issue:
1) Type a sentence into a text box that has a comma in it.
2) From the Home tab, select the Change Case icon 'Aa' and choose 'Sentence case.' from the dropdown.
For example, I just typed: there were cats everywhere, so I hid.
The sentence case result was: There were cats everywhere, So i hid.
I was hoping for: There were cats everywhere, so I hid.
It's looks to be the same issue mentioned above by Pierre Jouan and Crystal Horn 4 years ago.

Hi Vanessa,
Thank you for clarifying that, and I appreciate you lining the steps out for me. It looks like this issue is in line with a bug that was reported back in Storyline 2 where:
The first character of words appearing after a comma, dash, or apostrophe is capitalized when using the Sentence case.Because of the low impact, we haven't prioritized this bug, but I'll be sure to add your experience to our report and jump back in here when there's news to share on a fix.
