Sequential Drag n Drop Design

I've been trying to find a way to change the design of the drag objects for the built in sequential drag n drop and I can only come up with this topic here: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/how-can-i-change-the-design-of-a-sequence-drag-and-drop-slide


The final resolution on it seemed to be "If you used the built in drag n drop, you can't change the design", but this is from nearly a decade ago. I'm wondering if this is still the case or if you can now design your own elements, such as the pieces themselves, the handling of the side numbers, and the spacing between them. We have a very specific design we're following for the courses in question, and while I've been able to fully customize the drag pieces for the other drag n drop interactives, the sequential one doesn't seem to give me any ability to customize it.
