Kath;
when you set up a results slides for your questions it has a timer option on it.
When you have the questions you want for a quiz done insert a new slide. In the quiz slide area there is a tab for results slides. That allows you to tell it what questions are in your quiz and how to display the scores. When you select a results slide it will ask you what questions you want to include in the results and at the bottom is an option for setting a time.

Thanks - that's brilliant. I knew it would be somewhere.

What happens when the time ends? Does it end or it doesn't allows you to go ahead?
Hi Deepak! Check out this article on adding a time limit. The user will get a message telling them they have exceeded the time limit and remaining questions will be marked incorrect.

Hi! We want to use the timer as well. Our goal is to provide a series of questions that need to be correctly completed within a certain time period. If they are not, they have to start over. If they complete the questions within the allotted time frame, they move on to the next slide/section. Is this possible?
Hi Mary!
Have you tried using Storyline's built-in quiz timer feature yet? Let me know if that's what you had in mind!

Is it only in 360?

Hi Mary,
Not at all. What version of Storyline are you using?
Here's a great article on this as well.

Hi Leslie,
The timer is not going to do what I need it to do, so I have decided to do something different. There are 11 hotspot question slides. If the user chooses the wrong hotspot, they have to start all over and are sent back to slide one. What I am unable to do is reset the previously answered slides so they can answer them again. It is currently set up as a quiz with 10 point for correct answers. I don’t need scores for this – it’s not actually a quiz. Perhaps that is the issue but I cannot figure out how to set it up outside of a quiz. Would you kindly help me?
Thank you,

Hi Mary,
We can certainly try to help you out.
I'm still not clear which version of Storyline you are using.
If you could share a sample .story file of what you have created, perhaps we could better assist.

How do you change the quiz time after the results slide has been added and the dialog box closed?
It doesn't appear in the slide properties that I can see.
Hey Paul!
Are you in Storyline 360 or Storyline 3?
If so, click the Edit Result Slide button. Then you can change the quiz time in the Results Slide Properties window.

I’m using Storyline 2. The properties for the results slide doesn’t enable you to change the time limit.
