Shapes moving out of alignment in preview mode
I have shapes nicely aligned in the normal view (stacked rectangles to make a gauge) but when I preview it, they are all akilter. This also happens to some other shapes I have stacked. When it is previwed, the top shape is moved over somewhat, exposing what is below. Any suggestions on preventing this?

Hi there Michael,
Hm, that's so odd! Thanks for letting us know what's going on. Is it possible that your file is stored on a network or flash drive? If so, try saving it on your local C: drive and work from there.
If you're already working locally and you're still seeing this wonky behavior, would you mind sharing your file with me? I'm interested to take a closer look at it. You can attach it here in the thread by using the ADD ATTACHMENT button, or you can send it directly to our Support Engineers here if you’d prefer to send it privately.

Grrr, Hi ya Alyssa. All my items are local so that's not an issue.
The one state that did function as intended, I duplicated that state and items seem to stay in place. This was very odd. I most certainly would have shared the file but it’s already overwritten.
Interesting find! Let us know if you run into this issue again, and we'll take a closer look. Thanks for reaching out, Michael.

Hi, I'm having this issue in SL2. It's on a local drive and but the shapes appear in a different place in preview mode. I'm also having the same issue with a zoom region. The zoom did originally work work correctly too but suddenly started to appear out of place. Is there a fix?

I just rebuilt it
Hi Andrea,
We'd be happy to take a look at your file. Can you share a copy of the .story file with us here, or send it along to our Support team here?

We're having a similar issue w/ SL 3 - Two text boxes on the Feedback Master slides are remaining where they "used to be" when I preview.
All files are local.- Ali_GouletFormer Staff
Hey Keith-- sorry that's happening!
Would you be able to share your .story file here so we can take a closer look? You can attach it right to a comment in the thread.
Really appreciate it!

Ali:
Sorry - we already built a new Feedback Master. Since we were just getting started setting up our template, we didn't have to do too much re-work.
For what it's worth, we originally made changes to the Feedback Master Slide, moving text boxes, adding a shape, etc. We then grouped several elements together & copied & pasted the group into the incorrect & correct slides. When we previewed, 2 of the text boxes displayed in their previous locations - as if we hadn't moved them prior to grouping.

I am using boxes with an outline and no fill over the same boxes with fill for a specific hover/click effect. The boxes with no fill have a hover state change to a 25% transparent fill with text on it. Everything is perfectly aligned in the SL2 file but once published some of the boxes (not all) shift out of alignment. It is interesting these threads go back a few years but I am just recently experiencing the issue. Seeing no fix for this is concerning. Any recent fixes or workarounds?

Hey Khalil- Sorry that's happening! Since this is an older thread- lets go ahead and start from scratch with what you're seeing.
Would you be able to share your .story project file here? I'd love to do some testing with it.
You can add it as an attachment right to a comment like this:
Thanks for letting us know about this!
Hi Keith and Khalil,
I know this one has been around for a while, but I believe you both were seeing it in Storyline 360? Just a quick note to let you know that the issue where shapes are not aligned in preview/publish is fixed in the latest Articulate 360 Update.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
