Showing base slide on layers

Greetings heroes!

Why can I suddenly not show the base slide when on layers? I'm on v3.17.16117.0, haven't seen anyone else with this issue though.

On courses I have previously made it will show. Any new course I create it won't show, even if I copy a slide over from an old course.

Am I missing something?

  • I am having a similar issue with the base layer looking like it has a cover over it when a layer is being shown

I would try checking the Slide Layer Properties by double-clicking on the layer, and seeing if the box Hide objects on base layer is checked. Hope that helps!

  • Hi Michael and Michelle!

Along with Emily's recommendation, I'd also suggest upgrading to the latest version of Storyline 360 (Update 21).

Also, check that the eye icon (Lock Visibility) is enabled. Disabling that will hide objects on the base layer.

If you've tried those things and you're still getting stuck, share your file here so we can take a closer look!

Update done, but still not working ... I should be seeing 8 objects but there are none. See attachment. I wonder if it is something so simple yet I am looking for a huge technical fix? Hmmmmm ....

  • Hi Michael

Just a thought - is there a transparency setting on the background that could be covering the objects? or the option 'hide background objects' is ticked? Can you share the slide?

This is old but in case someone is experiencing this problem and finds this thread - I had the same issue and Wendy's suggestion solved it! Thanks

  • Me too! Thanks Wendy. Helped me track it down in the master slides of the quiz feedback layers.

Great news Martin...all the best with your project.

  • Another year has passed and I'm experiencing the same issue.

I am on Articulate 360 and fully updated. I've attached a file that only includes 1 slide to simulate the issue. I copied this slide from my original project. This should be a completely blank master slide - not even a quiz slide. Can anyone take a look and advise why some of my base layer objects display on Feedback 01 layer but other base layer objects are hidden?

  • On the timeline, expand Base Layer Objects, and select those you want visible.
