Showing base slide on layers

Greetings heroes! Why can I suddenly not show the base slide when on layers? I'm on v3.17.16117.0, haven't seen anyone else with this issue though. On courses I have previously made it will show...

Hi Michael

Just a thought - is there a transparency setting on the background that could be covering the objects? or the option 'hide background objects' is ticked? Can you share the slide?

    This is old but in case someone is experiencing this problem and finds this thread - I had the same issue and Wendy's suggestion solved it! Thanks
