SL3 issue: "Zoom Picture" is adding a grey border around the image
"Zoom Picture" is adding a grey border around the image.
That is an actual screenshot showing the border it has added.
Hello everyone,
Happy to share that we've just released a new update for Storyline 360!
In Build 3.109.36125.0, we've included essential fixes and new features. One of the bugs we’ve fixed is:
- Rotated images with zoom enabled didn't display correctly.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help.

I'm on the latest version of Storyline 360 and the bug is still there (after 4 years!). It is inconsistent, sometimes it puts a grey border on, sometimes it doesn't. As my images are on a plain white background if I apply a Storyline white border to the 'zoom' images it seems to resolve (apart from having a white edge, which is preferable).

Hi, Bryan.
It looks like the images didn't attach to your reply via e-mail. I went ahead and opened a support case on your behalf. You should hear from our team soon, and you'll receive a private link to upload any attachments you can share.

Hi, Bryan.
Is your question related to Storyline 3 or Storyline 360?
As Lauren mentioned above, while this is still an open issue with our team for Storyline 3, we're no longer seeing this happening in Storyline 360.
If you're encountering this in Storyline 360, please reach out through a case so we can investigate.

This is regarding Storyline 360 and this is very much still happening.

Hi Team,
I hope you all are doing great. It's been 4 years since the issue was reported. Is there any fix to this situation? Otherwise, it is to be understood that the Storyline team simply does not care about this issue and it will not be fixed.
Hoping to hear good news.
Kind regards,

We’re talking about Storyline 3. It says SL3 right there in the title of this thread.
Hi all!
I am happy to report that we are not seeing this behavior in Storyline 360 (Build 3.49.24347.0):
- Zoom picture adds a grey border around images.
If you're still running into this snag, make sure you're using the latest version of Storyline 360.
Don't hesitate to reach out to us in this discussion or in a support case if you have additional questions!

Can confirm. I'm seeing this issue in Storyline 360 as well. The white border fix is the only work-around. Thanks Matt!

I see that the last response about the line appearing around a zoom-able image was over a year ago, and it is still happening. I'm trying to zoom 3 different sections of one diagram, but the line between them can't be there. Did this ever get resolved? Thanks.

Hi Janet - Articulate never did anything but continually post that they would look into it. Completely ridiculous for such an expensive piece of software.
However, I eventually discovered a simple work-around. After clicking on the zoom tool, look to the left of it for the “picture border” tool and set the border to white. That has worked for me.

In the meantime, a very simple fix that is working for me is to change the image's border color to white. The image, like the raccoon example I posted at the start of this thread, doesn't actually have a border, but if you change its border color to white anyway, it seems to solve the issue when you mark it for "zoom".
