Stop replaying audio when user returns to slide
Hello,
I have a Menu slide that automatically plays audio with a small introduction. I have the slide property set to "when revisting: resume saved state". However, when the audio finishes and the user moves forward and returns to the menu it plays the introduction again. How can I stop the audio from playing again? Thanks in advance!

That is odd behaviour, it shouldn't be doing that. Is it possible for you to share part of the project? For privacy I would suggest deleting anything unnecessary or identifies the organization. That way someone here can take a quick look at how it is set up and try and figure out what is happening.

If your timeline resembles one on the screenshot, drag it to adjust the total display time to match the length of your audio or its endpoint.

Hi Diana,
It looks like you've connected with my teammate, Robert, in a case. We'll continue the conversation there to keep all information in one place!

Hi, I'm wondering if there's a solution for the issue the OP experienced as I've got a similar issue. The only difference is my audio file is an MP3. Thanks
Hi KarenWicks-029a!
Happy to help!
Reviewing Diana's case, my colleague Robert shared a sample design to address her audio playback issue:
I understand you find the audio in a Storyline 360 slide plays again when returning from a different slide.
An audio object is an element that doesn't have a state. A slide's timeline starts when the slide is loaded. There could be a few solutions to your inquiry; however, the key idea is to know when to play the audio file. We can use the following to achieve that by using it in the trigger condition:
A) a Variable (T/F) to toggle or
B) a shape with an additional state
I used a shape with an additional state in the attached sample, so there is no need to maintain or create a variable. Depending on your design, we can use a single variable/shape for all the audio files or create one for each. I named the objects so they would be easier to follow. Please see the screenshot below for more details. If you're still having trouble, seeing a copy of the .story file you've been working with would be helpful! feel free to share that here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

Thank you for the information. I've got it working using the shape and states.
How would I go about doing the same with a T/F variable?
Thanks again.
Hi KarenWicks-029a ,
I've attached a sample project file so you can see how this can be done using triggers and a True/False variable. Let me know if you have any questions!
