StoryLine - Pictures / Images not showing
I am having problems with images not showing up in the published version. Images are all there in the .Story file and they are all visible in the preview mode.
Once published however as either an LMS or as a Webpage, random images either do not appear or only partially appear. Every time I publish it is not the same set of images either. I can publish the project 6 different times and each time it will be different images that either don't show up at all or only partially show up.
The images that have disappeared include a combination of: imported with powerpoint slides, copy/pasted directly into StoryLine, StoryLine characters, StoryLine insert picture from file.
What I have tried:
I have uninstalled/re-installed.
Worked strictly off the network.
Exited all other programs.
Changed the image quality.

Hi Meghan,
I'm happy to investigate! Could I gather a few more key details from you:
- What's the image file type of the affected image?
- Working on a shared drive can result in blank assets. Let's check that the course and media files are stored on a local drive.
- Could you share the project and image file with us? You can use this private case link. We'll review them in Storyline 360 Update 45 and let you know our findings!
Any insight you could share there would be greatly appreciated!

Same issue... Never encountered it before this week, and I can't seem to find a common thread as to why it happens. Right now it's actual images and graphics from Storyline itself (like shapes and characters) that seem to magically disappear when working on a slide but may (or may not) show up in the preview or when published.
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing that you're experiencing a similar issue recently.
- Are you working locally with your software, project files, and assets?
- I'm curious if the issue happens in any course you are working on or just this particular one?
If you'd prefer to work with our team privately, then with your permission, please share your project file with our support engineers here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.

I am also have an issue where images disappear from my published course. At first, it was random images. Now it appears to be only storyline images/characters. Was there any resolution to Michelle's issue?
Hello Stacy!
I don't see Michelle submitted a case, so I'm not confident what the solution was for them. We're happy to help figure out what is causing this issue for you!
Secure networks might block Articulate 360 services and prevent your apps from working. I'd recommend reaching out to your network admin to confirm that these domains are accessible on port 443 so that your Articulate 360 apps and services work properly.
If this doesn't do the trick, then we'll need our Support Engineers to step in. You can connect with our Support Engineers by submitting a support case.

Has a cure for this been found? Same problem here. Copy a slide from one Storyline file to another and the images and audio is not visible/audible. The timeline is correct and you can click on the image. They just aren't visible.

Hello Paul,
Sorry to hear you're having issues with disappearing images and audio. I'm happy to work with you on this!

You mentioned you copied a slide from one project to another; are you copy/pasting slides between projects? Or using the recommended method of importing slides into other Storyline courses?
- Working on a shared drive can result in blank assets. Are the course and media files stored on a local drive?
If you're following these best practices already, I'd recommend sharing your file with one of our support engineers here so they can dig into this with you as the next step!

I was copying/pasting between projects. I tried your suggestion of importing from the slide from other course. That worked, so thank you. It takes more time, but better than the alternative. Thanks again, I think you are the first staff member to actually help me out. Have a good day Becca.

Same issue here. Images display until published for LMS. GIFs seem to play with no issue.
