It sounds like you had some questions about the functionality of the JAWS screen reader when your learners are viewing a course. I'd be happy to share some insight on that!
The Storyline 360 player controls have been organized into logical groups, with added ARIA landmarks and restructured player features to follow a consistent order and hierarchy when navigating with a screen reader. Using the tab key to navigate to the previous and next button is the expected behavior and what we would suggest when using a screen reader like JAWS.
