Storyline Resolution vs. Compression

I do an extensive amount of desktop capture video training, rendering in .mp4 format via Camtasia.

When I insert the video into Storyline, compression makes the video unusable.

Is there another format better suited for this purpose, or a setting I can change to allow larger file/higher resolution video?

It seems to be doing the same with screenshots as well.

I have a workaround where I publish just the test, and place a link to the video in in MS Teams the Resources tab.

This makes ensuring the trainee has viewed the video very cumbersome.

Thank you and respectfully, Jack

  • Hello Jack!

Sorry for the trouble! MP4 videos are natively supported in Storyline 360 so I’m interested to investigate why this specific video is unusable in Storyline 360. Do you mind sharing your .story file and video with us in a support case? We’ll test the video to determine what might be getting in the way and offer troubleshooting steps.
