Storyline translation project information summary table
I have a client asking what some of the fields in the summary table mean - specifically strings, words, and characters. Are there definitions for these items anywhere?
Hi Tim,
Good question! I'm happy to help with some insight into this. The fields you mentioned provide information about the number of strings (text objects which may be composed by a group of words), number of words, and number of characters in your course.
Here are a couple of articles with information on these fields:
You'll find things like the number of scenes, slides, slide layers, strings (text objects), words, and characters. This information not only helps you see the scope of your project, but it's also useful for obtaining a more accurate quote from translation vendors for the price of localizing your course.
Translators need as much context as possible to correctly localize a course, so we added more details to the new Word document to aid translation. Here's what's new:

Let me know if you have other questions, and I'll be more than happy to assist further!
