Strange Login Error - help!

Hi community,

I seem to be hitting a problem with my account which I can’t figure out. Earlier while using Storyline I was suddenly asked to login again. I clicked login, and was taken to the Articulate 360 window. I clicked login there, and the window said it was going to redirect to my browser. Nothing happened for a long time, and then I got this message:

'Couldn't open port, unable to open port for authentication responses'

This was initially on my work networked machine. I’ve now tried to login on my personal device which has no firewall or blocks, and where I’ve logged in before successfully, and I’m getting exactly the same problem?

This entire time I’ve been successfully able to login to Rise on the browser and use this as normal. Also, I have been able to open Storyline successfully a few times during this issue, but when I go to publish and select Review 360, nothing happens.

Does anyone know what the problem is here and how I can fix it?

    I’m really sorry you’re hitting that “Couldn't open port” message. It can be super frustrating, especially since you’ve tried both your work and personal devices. Thanks for laying everything out so clearly!

    That error usually means something is blocking the Articulate 360 app from completing the sign-in process. Here’s what I’d suggest for each setup:

    On your work machine:
    You may need help from your IT team. Please confirm that port 443 is open and that the domains listed in this article are allowlisted. These are essential for sign-in and publishing to Review 360.

    On your personal machine:
    Clearing the desktop app’s cache can help resolve odd sign-in or publishing issues. Here’s how:

    1. Close Storyline.
    2. Open the Articulate 360 desktop app.
    3. Press F12, then select the Cache tab.
    4. Click Clear Cache, confirm, and then Done.

     

    Once cleared, try signing in again and publishing to Review 360 from Storyline.
