Survey and Likert Scale slides... Reporting survey response rate in LMS

Hi there!

I'm creating an Storyline 360 e-learning which includes survey and essay slides. There is not Correct/Incorrect questions, is a survey to detect areas for improvement.

The structure is:

Question with 3 options (survey slide):
Answer A - Bad situation
Answer B - Neutral situation
Answer C - Good situation
(and only if the user reply "Answer A" jump to an essay slide to be completed)

It is necessary reporting the survey Response Rate to detect areas for improvement and, as I read in some threads I could create Likert Scale slides instead survey, but the LMS report is still a problem because I cannot get the rate.

Someone could give me a hand with this? Is possible to get a response rate from a survey? or how could I report results from Likert Scale slides?

Any help or insight would be much appreciated!
Thanks! :)

Hi Leslie, I have a similar problem. I understand that Articulate has no control on how the LMS handles the reported results, but after reading the article from your first link, I have a doubt: does SCORM 1.2 reports survey results to the LMS?

      Thanks

      • Hi Ivo!

        Happy to help!

SCORM 1.2 has limited support for tracking non-graded, survey-style interactions, and is primarily designed to capture:

        • Completion status (completed, incomplete)
        • Success status (passed, failed)
        • Score (for graded questions/quizzes)
        • Time spent
        • Interaction data (for quizzes, but not always reliably for surveys)

However, it does not natively support reporting survey responses in a structured way to the LMS. Most LMSs do not extract detailed survey answers from SCORM 1.2 packages.

If you've already connected with your LMS administrator and they were unable to configure your LMS to extract that data, I suggest publishing to SCORM 2004 instead.

    Hello Leslie,

    Thanks for your answer!

Yes, I did include the result slide. Also, I exported as SCORM 2004 and Tin Can API but unfortunately the LMS is not showing the report as we need this time.

I'm trying to create something similar with some essay slides in a SCORM formatted course. Would like to have some type of capture for the results the user types in, but not sure how to set that up in Storyline360 so that it reports correctly to the LMS.

      Hello Julie!

We recommend using the Survey Results Slide to track the learner's input using Survey Questions. If you don't see the learner's input in the LMS report, you might need to look under a section called Interactions in your LMS to see the text input.

I'd recommend reaching out to your LMS admin to ask where you would find this data in the reporting.
