I appreciate you sharing what you are experiencing with your multiple-choice questions.
Are you using the built-in multiple choice graded question type? If so, you should be using the up/down arrows to navigate through your answer choices.
I'm unable to replicate the behavior you are describing. Here is my sample slide, and I also recorded a quick Peek 360 video to demonstrate what I'm seeing.
