Table in rise deleting column

Hi all,

Hope someone can assist I can select a column by using shift and the down arrow but when I either click delete on my keyboard or the delete icon. Nothing I am trying is working as I only need 4 columns. I am keen to use a table in rise and not an image so that accessibility can be achieved.

    Hi Liz,

Click anywhere in the column you want to delete.

    The table toolbar will appear.

Click on the icon with the three vertical lines.

    Select Delete column.

  • Hello, I am struggling with this as well. I am able to get the table toolbar to appear but nothing is clickable in the toolbar. I tried clicking the Column icon and nothing happens so I never see the options you have listed in your screenshot above. What am I doing wrong?

      Hi Melissa,

Sometimes the table toolbar stops working.

Quit the current course and go back to the course dashboard.

Access the course again, and this will reload the table toolbar.

The same problem exists with the text formatting toolbar.

  • Using Chrome here.
The table just blinks. Can't click it.
Trying my best to make it work but it just disappears before I'm able to use it.

      Hi LeandroSerrano,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear you've hit this snag!

I tested this out on my end and was able to delete a column by selecting the column > selecting the three vertical lines icon > Delete column. A good first step is to check that your software is up to date. If it is, I'd like to ask a few troubleshooting questions to help me better understand what's going on:

      • Have you tried exiting the course and reopening?
      • Is this happening in multiple courses or one specific course? If just one, have you tried deleting the table and re-adding it?
      • Have you tried using a different browser and confirming your browser is up to date?

If the issue continues, we'd be happy to take a look at your course in a support case!
