Text to speech speed
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 83, we've included important fixes and new features!
One of the new features we've included:
- Unlock new possibilities for text-to-speech audio. Use speech synthesis markup language (SSML) to adjust the speaking rate, modify pronunciation, emphasize words, add pauses, and more.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!
I assume you are referring to computer-generated speech when you talk about speeding up/slowing down the text-to-speech. Do you find that computer generated speech holds your users' attention sufficiently?

Barry,
I use images, videos, and Doodly to tell short stories and case studies at a nursing college. Yes, it keeps the students’ attention.

I don’t know that the attention is the issue, the issue is it is taking a ton of time inputting punctuation to slow the text to speech down. All of the choices for text to speech at time speak way to fast, users are needing to rewind to make sure they are hearing them properly. It would help to have some kind of slider that creators could slow the speech down were needed.
I hope that makes sense. Looking at the community discussions, it seems I’m not the only one having this issue.
If there is some way this could be addressed it would be appreciated!
Thanks!
