'The file is corrupt or created on an earlier version of Storyline'
Dear Community,
I am supposed to update some training content but sadly I can't open the file - I get a message saying that either the file is corrupt or created on an earlier version of Storyline.
Is there any possibility of being able to open it again and introduce these updates? I would appreciate all comments and suggestions.

Hi Dawid!
Sorry to hear you've hit this snag trying to open an older Storyline 360 file! I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot!
It would be helpful to test the file out on our end to see if we can reproduce the error message you are encountering. Would you be willing to share it here in the discussion or privately through a support case? We'll delete it from our system once testing is complete!
In the meantime, I wanted to share a great resource that provides more guidance to help reduce the risk of file corruption:
Looking forward to hearing from you!

that mean in the most cases - storyline was disturbed while writing the file and had created a incomplete zip (=story) file
you can check your file with 7z (https://www.7-zip.org) -> "Test archiv"
if you get such an error message (Data error) - the file is gone, you need another backup
sometimes it is possible to repair the file with winrar
@articulate: this is an error in storyline for more than 8 years !!!

@articulate: the corrupt file problem was intruduced with Storyline 2 (before 20/10/2014) and NOT fixed since 8 years
here the first upload of a damaged file to the form

It'S been a while, but I have the same problem.
I dont have any backup of my file, it opened last 30. July, now it wont. Is there anything I can do to get it back?
It was exported to review, but I unfortunatly dont back it up (biting me right now).Hi ChristianeKn242,
Sorry to hear about the trouble with the Storyline project!
We’d be happy to help take a closer look at the problematic file, try to identify what may have caused the issue, and, if it has really been corrupted, see if we can still recover any of the media items.
You’re welcome to share the file privately with us through a support case. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
