Tracking link clicks in Rise or SL? Company Newsletter...

Considering creating a regular company newsletter which consolidates a lot of important links to other assets (websites, PDFs, etc) as a Rise course to host on our LMS.

Company had been creating content, distributing, and tracking in MailChimp, but would love to consolidate it into our LMS so we can see not only self paced, and ILT trainings that a learner has gone through, but also the newsletter content they've consumed.

One of the requirements is we track the links in the newsletter that are clicked on. This is something that MailChimp can certainly do, but I was wondering if I were to build this newsletter as SCORM content with Rise, would I be able to track that type of activity in my LMS.

Has anyone done something like this?

  • Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, it's not currently possible to track that kind of activity in Rise 360 courses. If you have time to log a feature request and tell us more about your specific needs, that would be super helpful!

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.

Is this still the case, or has this feature been released?

  • Hi Aaron!

Rise 360 doesn't have a feature for tracking click activity in a lesson. Can you tell me a little more about your need for that feature? I'd love to pass your ideas on to our team!

Any updates on a feature to be able to track clicks in the lessons? I can think of several benefits for such a feature -  If I have 3 lessons within a Rise that focus on 3 different product features, I may want to know which feature(s) my audience is most interested in.

Hi Beth, Thanks for checking in. We don't have any updates to share yet about tracking click activity. We will update this thread if this becomes a feature.

  • I, too would love to be able to track link clicks or at least make clicking the link what triggers the continue button to show up. We have links to external articles/courses that we need employees to click and we have to be able to prove that they at least clicked the link.

  • I'll just be the more recent request for click tracking for rise course content shared by a link. This would still be a lovely feature and I would use it in a heartbeat!

  • Here's another request for this feature. Please let us know if we should be reporting this another way.

      Hi Crystal!

Thanks for checking in on this!

Not to worry! Our development team is already tracking a feature request, so you're in the best place for updates! I've included you in the feature report and will share the news here if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap.

Have a great rest of your week!

Adding to the request for a tracking feature for links that are clicked.

If Articulate were to implement this feature, where should the record (tracking the link clicks) be saved/stored?

That's a question above my pay grade. I assume the primary concern is about privacy, confidentiality, and security of data collected. Maybe someone else can chime in here?
