Great news, Louise! So happy switching to the legacy workflow did the trick!
The legacy workflow was how things were done before Storyline 360 build 3.49.24347.0. By default, newer versions use the Enhanced Word Translation for faster workflow, but you can easily switch between optional features: Turning Optional Features On and Off.
