Translation for Custom Blocks, Code Blocks, and Text-to-speech

The custom blocks are not being translated with the localization translation. What is the best way to manage the translation? I just tried to replace the custom block text in one of the translated versions but found that it changed the text in the English version as well. I don't want to have to download an XLIFF file for the entire course for one or two custom blocks, so I'm hoping there is a work around?
Have they identified the work around yet? This is troubling. The new blocks are amazing but useless if I can't use them in the courses I am "localizing".
