Typing in Notes box is extremely slow
Hi Tomer!
It sounds like you're also experiencing input delay when typing in the Notes section of Storyline. Sorry to hear that, but I'd be glad to assist!
Testing the behavior on my end (Storyline 360 ver. 3.80.31058.0 via Windows Parallels on a Mac M1) I did not observe any input delay.
If you've confirmed that you're working locally, and performing a repair of Storyline doesn't solve the issue; I'd be happy to take a closer look at your project file! If you're comfortable, please share a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
We'll delete it from our system as soon as troubleshooting is complete!
Hi Steven, I'm wondering if we have been able to be clear on these forums about what we're experiencing, which could be why you aren't able to replicate the issue. I can tell you that what I experience isn't a time lag (others may have different experiences). What happens for me is that I click into the Notes area and start typing, and nothing happens. I have to click in that are multiple times (usually more than 2x) before the area will recognize that I've changed focus from the main screen to the notes area.
Is what I just described different from what you've been testing? Unfortunately, most of us aren't software developers and don't have the correct language to express the problem. Maybe something along the lines of "Notes area does not respect mouse click/shift in focus to that area on first click."
There is no good way to show this via video, or I would have made one already. Although a small issue, it can wreak havoc multiple times per day.

Hi Kristin!
Thanks for sharing the feedback! Sorry for any confusion!
Testing the behavior again (Storyline 360 ver. 3.80.31058.0 via Windows Parallels on a Mac M1) I was able to click in/out of the Notes panel, as well as paste text without noticeable delay or loss of focus.
If you've tried the steps I shared previously but are still encountering issues, I'd be glad to take a closer look at one of your affected .story files. If you're comfortable sharing a copy here in the discussion or privately with our support engineers, we'd be happy to troubleshoot this further!

Hi Stephen, Thanks for trying that out so quickly. Does this behave the same way for you when you have a larger project populated with many pages, images, and text? There are a number of people in your forum stating that they are experiencing this "lag," so something is going on. I'd encourage you to open a larger project, copy text from the page and paste it into the notes and see if it acts differently. For me, it seems as though when I click in the notes area the focus remains on the text I just copied. Also click into a text box and edit the text, and then try to shift focus to the notes section and type something. The focus remains on the "open" text box.
I always work on projects locally, after experiencing the negative side effects of not doing so in a previous project. As for a repair of Storyline, unfortunately we don't have admin access to our computers at my job, so I'll have to put in a ticket to do the repair, and then, assuming it doesn't fix the issue, I'd be happy to hop on a call if that would be helpful. I see Steve has also provided a project, so maybe that will help.
