Unexpected "Yes/No" Prompt in SCORM Output from Storyline 360
Problem
When publishing and uploading SCORM packages created in Articulate Storyline 360, some of my users are encountering an intermittent green "Yes/No" prompt appearing at the start of their course on my LMS. This prompt is not referenced in the project settings (As far as I can see) and seems to occur regardless of the content or structure of the course. It has been observed across multiple projects of mine (but not all), suggesting the issue is not tied to a specific interaction.
Whether I click "Yes" or "No," the project no longer works — unless I click "No," click to the "language selection" button (which takes you to a different slide), then close out. After that, the project works normally for everyone.
If I test the project in my browser, this never appears. But as soon as I upload it to a fresh course in my LMS, it shows up — so I can never reproduce it during testing.
I initially thought it was the resume functionality, but this looks different. Thoughts?

No news on this? now when i want to revert to previous versions can't open due to rounded borders control... this has no sense

We are also encoutnering this and looking for a fix - updating published scorms used to work perfectly but now we have to consider resetting all learners' progress which is less than ideal.

I found that reverting to the May 2025 version of Storyline and then exporting as SCORM fixed the issue.

We are also left in the same limbo.

StevenBenassi How do we downgrade to version 3.99.34516.0. We're experiencing this issue. We're a global manufacturer with over 85,000 users in our LMS. We have updates that are now hanging up with the resume prompt affecting thousands of users. The workaround solutions are not viable.

Are there any new updates for this issue? It's not possible to downgrade to version 3.99.34516.0.
Hi KennyDyer-44519!
Thanks for checking in on this!
I don't have any updates to provide at the moment, as our development team prioritizes other features. I've shared your feedback directly with them! For now, the workaround solutions we mentioned earlier are still valid.
We'll be sure to notify you if anything changes!

Could the Yes/No buttons be removed at least and that screen only have a 'Restart ' button on? It's the fact that those buttons appear and do nothing that is causing a bad user experience.

StevenBenassi, we're experiencing this issue using SL version: 3.102.35072.0. Is the fix still to re-publish with 3.99.34516.0 or has this been fixed in a newer release?
Hi AndrewMercer-c6 and ErichRenken-c28,
Thanks for following up on this!
I checked in with Engineering, and confirmed Steven's response includes the most accurate information. ErichRenken-c28 you can downgrade to version 3.99.34516.0, otherwise we suggest using one of these approaches to avoid further confusion:
- Delete student resume data manually when updating a course if your LMS allows it.
- Instruct students to select Restart instead of Resume when prompted to continue the course.
Our product team is tracking customer feedback, so I've shared both of your comments there. We'll keep this discussion up to date with any changes!

This solution is not applicable as the version 3.99.34516.0 is not available on the list to downgrade.

Is there an update on this? We have a customer who is seeing the yes/no message every time they access the updated module and it will not resume after being accessed multiple times.

Hello,
I wasn't expecting this kind of answer...
Maybe this is expected behaviour but it was perfectly handled before.
We often update courses when we get feedback of various errors and this was the perfect solution : update course, resume where you left without the bugs. Why does SL now throws a prompt that hangs the course? Why can't it handle the situation properly like it did before?
Instruct learners? How? When? "If you come back to this course and feel it's been updated or if you get stuck when trying to resume, please relaunch and choose to restart from the beginning and loose what you've done previously"?
I still hope there will be a proper fix or a rollback to what it was before...
Hi PierreJouan,
Thanks so much for providing us with this feedback. I've shared this with our product team, and will let you know if any changes are made!
Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share an update on the LMS behavior you've reported!
After additional testing, we've found that many LMSs clear resume data when a new course version is uploaded. This is the expected behavior. For example, SCORM Cloud resets resume data by default, while platforms like Moodle may retain it.
To avoid confusion when updating existing courses, please consider:
- Manually clearing leaners' resume data (if supported by your LMS), or
- instructing learners to select Restart instead of Resume when prompted.
Thank you!
