Using a Pre-Test to Guide Learning
If anyone stumbles upon this like I did, this build isn't displaying content based on result - some responses seem to think it's doing something beyond what they may initially think Rise can do on the face of it. Essentially, this is not going to solve the problem of needing a branching solution based on the quiz result which is what I, and many others, need.
So my first point here is: I will add a voice to needing branching functionality in Rise 360 based on a quiz score.
As a second point, I will describe for those who stumble upon this post with what is going on in this build for those unaware:
- At least two lessons have been created in this course. One is the quiz and the second contains the buttons (by the looks of things it's 3 button stack blocks each with 1 button in and a bg colour chosen per block).
- Navigation has been turned off preventing the learner from being able to skip the quiz.
- The second lesson that contains the buttons, links out to specific content (either inside or external to the course).
- Each button block is sub-headed with a score-band, e.g. 0 - 50%.
- It is up to the learner to be honest and select the button that applies to them.
- If you scored 20%, nothing prevents you from selecting the 80-100% button.
This has a big issue with those who would choose to go down the route of "I scored 80%" route when they scored less than 50%. I'd like to sit here and rely on the honesty of others, but that is not always practical, especially in industries with huge legal recourse such as pharma.

Thanks for outlining this so clearly, SamBarnard-98a4, and for taking the time to explain what’s actually happening in the example course.
You’re right that the approach shown there doesn’t enforce routing based on quiz results. While it can look like branching at first glance, it relies on learners manually selecting a path after the quiz, which means there’s nothing preventing someone from choosing a score range that doesn’t match their results. As you noted, that’s especially problematic in regulated or high-risk environments where accuracy really matters.
The need you’re describing is for true quiz-based branching, where Rise can automatically route learners to the appropriate content based on their score, without relying on learner honesty. I’ve shared this feedback with our product team so they can better understand how important this distinction is and why the current example doesn’t meet that need.
Thank you for adding your voice here and helping clarify the gap between what’s being demonstrated and the functionality that many authors are looking for.
