Validate text field without submit button

Have you tried setting up the submit event in your slide to occur when the focus of your learner moves away from the text entry box? 

It's not fully automatic since this will require a learner to click outside the text entry box, but this setup will not require the presence of a submit button to work. Attached is a sample demo file for your reference.
