Thank you Jeff. That did not solve the problem (although thank you for catching that). Still getting a NaN message. Does it make a difference that I'm working in Storyline 3?

Hi, Hilary.
Thank you for reaching out!
I noticed the same trigger as Jeff, and making the change worked for me. I'm attaching your edited file here. Let me know if you still see the issue!

Thank you - I see that it is working for you but when I download it I get the same error message.

Hello Hilary. I just checked your file with Storyline 3 (previously did with SL360) and I do get the correct total when adding the items up.
However, if you DO NOT put in an entry for ANY of the entries, you will get NaN since no typed value exists for that Numeric Entry X.
I am not sure if that is why you are getting NaN still on your end? Perhaps because you haven't put in a value for every entry field? You may want to check for that or prevent calculation if there is not an entry for all of the fields.
