What do you as elearning developer expect from your authoring tool(s)?
I will start the thread..
Top three features 1-3
1. Tracking, any user interaction function should have the option to be tracked/measured to generate reports from a course design improvement perspective.
2.2D animation, 3D models, the tools should be able to handle simple 2D animations and reuse 3D models with full live user interaction. No plugin should be needed.
3.Quiz branching, From the quiz offer different learner paths based on answers.
Top 4-6
4.Summary quiz, from several quiz objects gather the total score for course completion.
5.Scoring, from various interactions types, gather score from good choice to best choice or plain wrong or correct and get minus score/deduct score.
6.Gaming, simple elements with scoring and tracking. Simple reusable elements with placeholder function for data input.
Top 7-10
7. Add more types of learning interactions for ease use and tracking in rise.
Examples
-Short / long Answer - Student reflective purpose and option to submit as email/message service.
-Numeric
-Sequence drag and drop with graphics/lists not only words..
-Fill in the Blanks - in more then one word..
-Select from Lists
-Drag the Words
-Hotspot - with graphics
-Drag and Drop with graphics and words
-Essay - Directly Submit any written content to specific email or cloudstorage.
8.Print certificate, with options course directly or sending communication from the course to LMS and print from there.
9.Archiving, standalone desktop application for archiving fully editable files to be synced with online version. Offline files Encrypted for safe storage and password protection/ account connection.
10.Account and user management. minimum roles Admin, Course designer, subject matter expert, reviewers, approvers.
