XLIFF import claims "successful" but changes nothing

Hi,

I am new to XLIFF but not new to XML in general.

I have tried hand-editing a small XLF file. When I re-import it, I get the message “Translation was imported successfully” but nothing has changed in the Storyline editor.

If I use Word Doc format, it works fine.

I attached the example files I am using.

Can somebody help?

Many thanks in advance.

  • you need a xliff editor to change the file (if you don't knows the xliff-xml specs in detail)

try the free version of PoEdit

you have changed the source text, but you have to add/change the translation

  • do we have software to edit the xml file to xliff? I tried to change the file extension from .xml to .xlf, but when I tried to import this the software crashed.

      Hello Oliver,

Storyline 360 exports translation files in Word or XLIFF format, while Rise 360 exports only in XLIFF. Can you please clarify where you generated the XML file from? If you need a free tool to edit your XLIFF translation files, you can check out Smartcat, a free translation tool.
